About QueryTracker

Let QueryTracker tell you more about this literary agent. Including...

  • Query Response Times
  • Genres of Interest
  • Preferred Manuscript Lengths
  • The Best Time to Query
  • And More
And best of all, it's FREE.

How it works?

Writers provide data about their query experiences with literary agents.

That data is then compiled into reports showing details about each agent's query history, allowing writers to reach the literary agent that is right for their book.

Why is QueryTracker Free?

QueryTracker is free because it is our goal to collect as much data as possible about query letter results.

To do that, we need as many members as possible to submit their data, and the best way to do that is to make it free.

So please, join us in building the web's largest collection of query data.

Agents, please contact us to make any changes to your profile.

Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

No response yet.

I sent her a nudge on Jan 29. She replied on Feb 2, saying she'd get back to me later in the week. Two weeks have passed since that, and she hasn't responded; but I won't nudge again.

Dear My Name,

Thank you for the query. I'm sorry to report that I don't think that I'm the right agent for this novel. I do appreciate having been offered the chance to consider your work.

Form query, 11/11/14

I also got the same reply on 12/07 as elpato54.

Responded with an offer of representation.

Full request.

Full sent 12/08/14

She promised to get back within the week.

Ms. Finch responded today, 12/16, and passed. She said she is representing a similar work.

I received a notice of receipt (via the online form) which everyone got. But here's where it gets interesting:

On 12/7/2014 I received this email:

This is a note to let you know that we've reviewed your query and sample pages and have marked the submission for further review. Due to the agency's busy holiday schedule, we may not be able to reply further until the near year.
Please do contact us right away should another agent offer you representation before you've heard further from us.

My best,
Diana Finch

I'm not sure if that's a good, bad, or just an update email due to her workload. In any case, I wanted to put the letter up here in case any of you guys have gotten it and are scratching your heads as well.

For what it's worth, it's very welcome and refreshing an agent can email me to say "I won't be getting back to you soon, I'm swamped." Even if it's in the query stage.
