@bawhelan so sorry it wasn’t better news.
It’s been one year since my full request. My first two nudges at 3 & 6 months were responded to, saying ‘so sorry and it should be soon but she had been very busy’ (Understandable). I was a bit bummed to see she had reopened for submissions (at my 11 month mark) before addressing outstanding fulls but thought I would just see if I could query a second manuscript while also acting as a nudge for my first. Never heard back. Best of luck and happy writing to the rest of you!

@bawhelen did you ever hear back on the second novel? I haven’t yet, coming up on a year for the first. I hope that’s a good sign and not bad. Good luck!

Obviously I don’t need to convince anyone to go ahead and query Deidre when she’s open. I think I waited just over a year for her to open to submissions after I finished this book. As you can tell from the dates above she has been really quick to respond, from my query to my check-ins. Each response has been kind, apologetic and professional. Needless to say she would be a dream agent as she puts her clients first (check out her Twitter to see everything coming out). Best of luck to everyone in the trenches!
