About QueryTracker

Let QueryTracker tell you more about this agent. Including...

  • Query Response Times
  • Genres of Interest
  • Preferred Manuscript Lengths
  • The Best Time to Query
  • And More
And best of all, it's FREE.

How it works?

Writers provide data about their query experiences with agents.

That data is then compiled into reports showing details about each agent's query history, allowing writers to reach the agent that is right for their work.

Why is QueryTracker Free?

QueryTracker is free because it is our goal to collect as much data as possible about query letter results.

To do that, we need as many members as possible to submit their data, and the best way to do that is to make it free.

So please, join us in building the web's largest collection of query data.

Agents, please contact us to make any changes to your profile.

Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Thanks so much Ticktock! I was just tickled pink to get her request. It was mt first full request ever and came just six days after my mother passed away - talk about an emotional roller coaster! I almost emailed her back to tell her how much that request meant to me but didn't want to sound too sappy (and I have another manuscript that I might submit to her late this year if this one doesn't get picked up - didn't want to seem like I was buttering her up). So I kept my response short, professional, and positive. But I know agents never get to hear the positive stories when they reject. And her request was a huge positive for me, even if she didn't connect with the story. :)

@ Kendra

Aw. I know she signed me recently and another client right before that Sometimes you might just be landing on someone's desk at a busy/bad time too. It's so weird how one agent says "not connecting", while someone else loooooves the same manuscript. Good luck!

EQ: 01/25/14
Full request: 03/20/14
Rejection: 04/11/14 (actually just before midnight on the 10th)

A portion of the rejection letter:

I read it with great interest, and there is much to like – your concept is very strong and the opening was gripping. I really enjoyed your descriptions as well. But, even given that, I’m not connecting with the story overall, and I’m afraid that I’m not the right agent for this project.

I must also send my very sincere apologies for taking this long to respond. I’m truly sorry about that.
